The Friends of CIS @ SBMS is a group of SBMS parents, mentors and community members who support all endeavors of the CIS on-campus program at Spring Branch Middle School. Through this group, such programs as Girls Inc, SpringSpirit baseball and softball, Newspring Art classes, and Chapelwood-sponsored athletics have been implemented into the every day lives of children who otherwise would never have access to them. This group also is called on as “the first responders” in times of immediate need, such providing meals during the holidays, purchasing bulk school supplies, donating clothing or canned goods, or being a “book fair angel.” The Friends have also connected SBMS Girl Scout troops to the program, and now Bears are helping fellow Bears on a regular basis. Whenever or wherever there is a need or opportunity to help, the Friends are there!
The Friends is all about creating a sense of community and support — they are the boots on the ground, so to speak, and are such treasures in the lives of the kids who benefit every day from their generosity. We welcome all ideas and offers of support.
Working with the CIS program at SBMS is a great way for groups such as Girl Scouts, Boy Scouts, church youth groups, etc. to get some fun, quality charity volunteer hours. You can e-mail Jennifer Espey at email@example.com or Allison Gower at firstname.lastname@example.org for more information on how to get involved!
We believe the more Friends the better! If you’re interested in becoming a Friend, please contact Jennifer Espey at email@example.com or better yet, subscribe to Bears4Bears and indicate your interest on the form. Thanks so much!
